(Washington, DC) — DC election officials are stopping an effort to recall DC Councilmember Jack Evans. The DC Board of Elections determined a petition to force a recall election of Evans was short of about one-thousand valid signatures to hold an election. Evans however still faces an expulsion vote from the DC Council. A Council committee voted unanimously earlier this week to recommend he be expelled from the council. This comes as he’s accused of various ethics violations.
