Kanye West is not only a musical genius, but also one of the biggest cultural icons in the world. As he once said in a song “Everything I do, need a news crew present.”

Well, today he makes headlines for donating 5,000 tickets to Atlanta area HBCUs for his “Donda” listening party. The event will take place Thursday night at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

Page Six reported “5,000 tickets to faculty, staff and students of Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, Morehouse School of Medicine, Spelman College, Morris Brown College and ITC.”

“Donda,” which is named after his late mother Donda West, comes nearly two years after the Yeezy designer’s last album, “Jesus Is King.” It was originally meant to be released in 2020 but never came to fruition.

The album was first heard at an exclusive event in Las Vegas this past weekend. West also aired a commercial during the NBA Finals with track star Sha’Carri Richardson as promotion for the album.
