San Francisco resumed concerts over the weekend with the return of the summer concert series at the annual Stern Grove Festival. The Festival in its 84th year brought out 3,000 people who came to see headliner, Ledisi, and local acts The Seshen and La Doña.
San Francisco Mayor London Breed addressed the crowd prior to the show and cut a red ribbon to signify the return of the concert series. “Y’all better get up and party like you’ve been locked up for 15 months,” said Breed.
Ledisi sang her 2012 hit, “Anything For You” as well as some Nina Simone covers. The concert series resumes every Sunday until August with San Francisco Symphony, Joan Jett, and Fitz & the Tantrums all coming to the stage.
Are you planning on attending a concert this Summer? Do you think it’s too soon to return to large crowds?
