Tamron Hall and Kenya Moore Shed Light On IVF

 Tamron Hall dedicated an episode of her new talk show to discussing IVF, or In Vitro Fertilization. The episode aired earlier this week and guests Kenya Moore and Gretchen Rossi stopped by to share their stories of IVF treatments, fails, and successes.

According to Penn Medicine, one million babies have been born from IVF and other technologies for infertility between 1987 and 2015 and more people are using assistance in reproduction.

The treatments in the United States are so costly, that women are taking “egg-cations,” which is traveling to other countries to freeze their eggs. A guest on the show traveled to Spain and paid $4,500 to freeze her eggs. The average cost for the procedure in the US is $10,000 to $15,000.

In April of this year, talk show host Hall gave birth to a baby boy via IVF.  Real Housewives of Atlanta Star, Kenya Moore shared that she gave herself IVF shots. Gretchen Rossi, formerly of Housewives of Orange County, acknowledged that the process is costly, but shared that there are facilities that provide payment plans for IVF.

More women opening up about their struggles with having a child including Michelle Obama and Gabrielle Union and urge women to know that they have options of they struggle with infertility.
