(Rockville, MD) — Maryland’s largest school district is announcing its new superintendent. Dr. Monifa McKnight was named superintendent of Montgomery County Public Schools this morning. She is the first woman in history to lead MCPS. Dr. McKnight has been acting as interim superintendent since the start of the academic year.
