Police in Howard County are investigating the bold sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl inside a school bathroom by a 16-year-old male student.
The alleged incident happened at Reservoir High School in Fulton. The victim reported it to school officials on November 11th. The victim agreed to meet the boy in the bathroom but not to be sexual.
The boy is now facing second-degree rape, second degree assault and fourth-degree sex offense. His name has not been released because of his age. He was taken into custody yesterday. He is not expected to return to the school until a full investigation into the matter is completed.
The story has sent shock waves through the community, with many parents say they thought their child was safe at school. Many wonder how could something like this happen when school was in session.
The principal Nelda Sims released a statement that read in part, “The well-being of every RHS student is of the utmost importance. I know that there will be conversations in our communities and on social media, and I encourage everybody to refrain from disseminating rumors or information that was not provided publicly by police.”
