(Washington, DC) — The Smithsonian Museum of African American History and Culture will host its first anniversary with an inaugural block party. The museum says the block party will mark the first anniversary of the Smithsonian’s Anthology of Hip-Hop and Rap. The event is scheduled for August 13th and will be staged outside the museum’s location at 15th and Madison Streets. Tickets to the event are free and will be available on the museum’s website. The block party will feature local and national artists and will highlight the evolution of hip-hop music.
