(Alexandria, VA) — Alexandria City High School has moved to virtual learning today following the death of a student Tuesday during a fight. In a letter to parents, High School Principal Peter Balas said classes at all campuses will utilize virtual learning today to allow the school community the time and space to grieve and process the student’s death. The principal also informed parents that a support team will be available to anyone who needs help in the wake of the student’s death. The school campuses were placed on lockdown yesterday following word of the student’s death and all after-school activities were canceled out of an abundance of caution.
