“Blacksonian” Celebrates Seven Years

(Washington, DC) — The National Museum of African American History and Culture is celebrating its seventh anniversary. The museum highlights the contributions made by African Americans. It was established by an Act of Congress in 2003 and opened on September 24, 2016 next to the Washington Monument. Officials with the Smithsonian say the museum is the nation’s top destination to explore and document the African American story.
