Charges Against Former MI Gov In Flint Water Crisis Thrown Out

Prosecutors made a procedural error when issuing indictments for the nine former state officials last year.

(Flint, MI) — Charges against a former Michigan governor relating to the Flint water crisis are being thrown out. That’s the action a judge took this week in regards to the case involving Rick Snyder. He was facing two misdemeanor charges. A panel of Michigan Supreme Court judges said earlier this year prosecutors made a procedural error when issuing indictments for the nine former state officials last year. Michigan laws don’t allow a judge to bring indictments as a one-man grand jury without an examination beforehand, which wasn’t done.
