(Baltimore, MD) — Elijah Cummings’ widow, Maya Rockeymoore Cummings, is considering running for his seventh congressional district seat. She made the announcement Thursday, saying she loves Baltimore city, the counties of the seventh district and the state of Maryland. Cummings says she’ll make an announcement very soon. She is currently the chairwoman of the Maryland Democratic Party. Elijah Cummings died last month at age 68. A special election to select a successor will be held in April.
