This is the day for solutions to stopping violence in D.C. before it gets any worse. Mayor Muriel Bowser is holding a public safety summit with several organizations, District leaders, police departments and court officials. She believes hiring more officers is one answer, saying the department is facing its worst staffing shortage ever.
