(Washington, DC) — D.C.’s Heat Emergency Plan is in effect through Friday. That means that cooling centers are open throughout the District for residents to take a break from the heat. Folks are encouraged to stay indoors, drink plenty of water and check on your elderly loved ones. Anyone needing to find a cooling center can dial 3-1-1 for specific locations.
