DC Could Add More Traffic Enforcement Cameras

A spokesperson for DDOT says this is part of a larger strategy to make streets safer.

(Washington, DC) — The nation’s capitol is on track for new traffic cameras this year. Right now, there are 136 watching for speeders and those who run red lights and stop signs. But the Department of Transportation says the budget includes nearly ten-million dollars for up to 170 more cameras. Some would even be added to bus lanes and school bus stops. A spokesperson for DDOT says this is part of a larger strategy to make streets safer.
