DC Dangerous Driving Bill Introduced

The announcement comes after a Southeast DC girl and her dad were run down by a suspected drunk driver.

(Washington, DC) — A DC councilmember is aiming to reduce dangerous driving. Councilman Charles Allen today introduced a bill that would expand efforts to hold drivers accountable for repeated infractions. This would include more booting, towing and impounding of vehicles cited in serious traffic violations over a six-month period and would streamline the process to revoke licenses for repeat DUI offenders. The measure would also give the AG’s Office the authority to bring civil suits against drivers. The announcement came a day after a Southeast DC girl and her dad were run down by a suspected drunk driver.
