(Washington, DC) — In an attempt to crack down on the growing problem of illegally parked cars in D.C., the District Department of Public Works is looking to hire more enforcement officers. The DPW is looking to hire more officers to step up enforcement of illegally parked vehicles. The department is also dealing with staff shortages and outdated equipment and is looking to rectify those situations as well. So far, the DPW has hired a dozen parking enforcement officers. The attempt is to have DPW enforcement officers deal with parking violations and allow District Police to deal with other public safety matters.
