(Washington, DC) — Students in the nation’s capital may have more time to get a COVID vaccine. The D.C. Council is expected to vote November 1st on temporary and emergency legislation. If approved, it would push back the deadline almost another year. As it stands now, kids must have their shots by January 3rd but at least 45-percent over the age of 12 still don’t. School leaders fear the mandate could lead to a high number of students missing class.
