(Washington, DC) — It looks like the COVID vaccine mandate for District schools is almost over. The D.C. Council voted to end it last night, saying they don’t think it’s necessary any more and fear too many students may miss class because they don’t have the required immunizations. Enforcement began two years ago and as of June, health officials say only about half of children over 12 had received both shots. The mayor is expected to sign the bill into law
