DC Council member Jack Evans is challenging an attempt to recall him from office. The Washington Post reports Evans filed a challenge with the district Board of Elections to a petition to oust him from office on Friday. He claims more than two-thousand of the 56-hundred signatures on the recall petitions are invalid. Recall supporters need a minimum of ten-percent of registered voters in Ward 2 to trigger an election. Officials have 20 days to decide whether to block the recall process or to validate signatures. Evans is accused of several ethics violations.
