We’re confronting a crisis that too often stays behind closed doors — domestic violence. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and the reality in Prince George’s County is heartbreaking. More lives are lost to domestic violence in the county than anywhere else in Maryland. It’s a sobering reminder that for far too many, home is not a place of safety.
