Washington, D.C. – (Monday, January 8, 2024) – D.C. police and the U.S. Secret Service are working to determine what caused a driver to crash today into an exterior gate on the east side of the White House complex.
The crash happened about 6 p.m. forcing authorities to shutdown streets from the 100 through the 600 blocks of 15th Street and Constitution Avenue, N.W. The driver, whose name has not yet been released, was taken into custody.
Fire and EMS were also called to the scene. There are no reports of any injuries.
