Former College Student Pleads Guilty To Racist Assault

(Lexington, KY) — A former student of the University of Kentucky is pleading guilty to a lesser charge in a November 2022 assault. Sophia Rosing pleaded guilty to reduced charges after a video was released showing the student physically and verbally assaulting Kylah Spring, an African American student employee while intoxicated, including the N-word more than 200 times. Rosing was permanently banned from campus as a result. Sentencing is scheduled in October with a recommendation from prosecutors of a year in prison.
