(Richmond, VA) — It was a runaway victory in a key Virginia Senate race between two candidates who previously left the General Assembly to pursue higher office. Former delegate and one-time candidate for governor Jennifer Carroll Foy secured more than 60-percent of the vote to defeat former delegate and one-time candidate for lieutenant governor Hala Ayala in Tuesday’s Democratic primary for the District 33 seat. The district includes parts of Fairfax and Prince William counties.
