(Monday, January 20, 2025) – Today is the federal holiday honoring the life and legacy of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. It’s an opportunity to build on the King Dream of justice and equality for all. Here are opportunities below to use this day as a “Day On and Not A Day Off” across the DMV.

Montgomery County Parks is hosting volunteer opportunities to help clean-up and beautify the parks at the following locations:

Black Hill Discovery Center 1pm – 3pm

Matthew Henson Trail (Georgia Avenue) 12pm – 2pm

Northwest Branch Stream Valley (Piney Branch Road) 10am – 12pm

Sligo Creek Stream Valley 9am -11am

Takoma-Piney Branch Park 10am – 12pm
