Kevin Ward, the new mayor of the City of Hyattsville, Maryland died last night from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. City official announced his passing in a press release today. The 44-year-old father of two had been serving since 2021 as the interim mayor until taking the seat permanently on January 1st, 2022. He leaves behind a husband and two adopted sons. Hyattsville City Council Vice President Robert Croslin will now serve as Interim Mayor.
