(Chicago, IL) — Closing arguments are underway in the Jussie Smollett trial. The former “Empire” actor is charged with staging a racist and homophobic attack in Chicago in 2019. The defense closed out their case yesterday after Smollett concluded his testimony, in which he repeatedly denied that he was involved in planning the phony attack on himself with the Osundairo brothers. The pair testified last week that Smollett masterminded the attack as a publicity stunt.
