Lawmakers Take Another Look At Capitol Attack

(Washington, DC) — Lawmakers are taking another look at the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol. California Democrat Zoe Lofgren opened a virtual House hearing and said Congress needs to ensure that Capitol Police do a better job of assessing violent threats. She again accused now-former President Trump of inciting the violence at the Capitol. Illinois Republican Rodney Davis also expressed concerns about the Capitol Police Department’s limited intelligence gathering and analysis capabilities. He said protecting the Capitol should be a bipartisan effort. The Justice Department is planning hundreds of criminal prosecutions that have been linked to the Capitol attack.
