Local Lawmaker Introduces The “Crown Act” To Protect AA’s From Discrimination At Work

It’s called the Crown Act. It stands for creating a respectful and open world for natural hair. This bill would apply to the county’s current anti-discrimination laws.

Montgomery County members Will Juwando and Nancy Navarro plan to introduce a bill this morning to the board to protect African American residents from being discriminated against because they choose to wear their natural hair.

The public will get a chance to weigh in on it on October 15th. Today’s board meeting begins at 9:15 a.m.
