(Baltimore, MD) — Maryland Congressman Elijah Cummings’ widow may soon join the race for the U.S. House seat left open by her husband’s death. Maya Rockeymoore Cummings is planning a special announcement tomorrow morning in West Baltimore. She’s currently chairing Maryland’s Democratic Party, but said a couple of weeks ago that she was considering running to continue Congressman Cummings’ legacy of public service. About a dozen candidates have already filed the paperwork to run, but more could jump in the race before the November 20th filing deadline.
