(Annapolis, MD) — State workers across Maryland are now banned from using TikTok. Governor Larry Hogan issued an emergency directive due to what he calls an unacceptable security risk. He says the state is taking “bold and decisive actions to prepare for and address cybersecurity threats.” His office claims certain Chinese and Russian-influenced products may be involved in cyber-espionage and trying to collect personal information.
