(Washington, DC) — A Minnesota congresswoman is recovering after being assaulted this morning in Washington, DC. The chief of staff for Democrat Angie Craig said the assault occurred “in the elevator of her apartment building.” Craig has some bruises from what happened and the suspect fled the scene as Craig defended herself and called 911. The statement noted there’s no evidence of the assault being politically motivated.
