(Washington, DC) — Some 55-million Americans will be on the move for the Thanksgiving holiday and more than one-point-three million are from the National Capital Region. Triple-A says most people will be driving to their destinations and traveling 50 miles or more. Families trying to beat the backups are already hitting the roads, which means area highways will be unusually busy during off-peak hours. If you can’t leave early this week, Triple-A is suggesting that you avoid the roads on Wednesday and opt for an early morning start on Thanksgiving instead.
