NAACP Warns About Visiting Florida

Florida Republican Congressman Byron Donalds, who is Black, said the move makes no sense and is political.

The N-double-A-C-P is warning African-Americans to stay away from Florida. The advocacy group this weekend issued a formal travel advisory for the state. The organization cites what it calls the governor’s aggressive attempts to erase Black history and to restrict DEI programs in Florida schools.

The N-double-A-C-P also says Florida is openly hostile toward African-Americans, people of color and LGBTQ-plus individuals. President and CEO Derrick Johnson says we’re not backing down, and we encourage our allies to join us in the battle for the soul of our nation.
