New ID Verification Technology At BWI

The TSA says the new units make it easier to catch fraudulent documents.

(Linthicum, MD) — The TSA is introducing new technology at BWI-Marshall Airport to make traveling easier and more secure. The new units use a camera to capture a photo to confirm a traveler’s identity and flight details in real-time. The technology eliminates the need to present a boarding pass to a TSA officer during the travel document checking process. The TSA says the new units make it easier to catch fraudulent documents. Three-dozen of the units are being used at BWI.
