June is PRIDE Month. It’s time for members of the LGBTQ+ community and their allies to celebrate and advocate. But this is also a time of conflict and debate over the impact these issues have on public education. The “Don’t Say Gay” law in Florida prohibits discussion about LGBTQ+ issues for third grade classes and below. Just yesterday… a popular school superintendent in Riverside County California was fired after the school board banded a social studies textbook that discussed assassinated San Francisco Supervisor and gay rights activist Harvey Milk in 1978. Tonight we’re talking about this important issue.
