US Marshall’s are joining area police in the search for a man they say was mistakenly released from an adult detention center in Fairfax County on Sunday.
The suspect has been identified as 53-year-old Donald Lewis of Washington DC. Officials say he walked out of the center around 7:30 and has not been seen since.
Lewis is wanted on grand larceny charges connected to his May 18th arrest. In addition authorities say he has a history of violence. George Mason University which is about a mile from the center was alerted and students were advised to seek shelter in a safe place.
