(Annapolis, MD) – Shoppers in DC and Virginia are expected to cross the border as Maryland’s annual Tax-Free Week has started. Numerous items are exempt from the six percent Maryland sales tax, in particular clothing, footwear and accessories priced under $100, as well as diapers. Book bags and backpacks will have the first 40-dollars of the cost exempted from the tax; the holiday runs through Saturday.
