DC Council Chairman Phil Mendelson spoke today about releasing some inmates at the DC jail because of the COVID-19 threat. Last month, 50 non-violent offenders were released from the Prince George’s County jail to help with social distancing. Just today… an employee from the Montgomery County Department of Corrections tested positive. It’s reminder that corrections workers are also at risk.
