As children head back to the classroom this fall, there are all kinds of concerns. There are concerns about COVID, of course, and what children have lost because they were forced to learn from home instead of in the classroom. Now there’s the new normal that will require them to do a lot of catching up. Does that mean that children of color may need addition help or teaching focus from educators? What about social-emotional learning? What is that? Could it be the special sauce to help them catch up and keep up?
