TikTok is introducing new features that will allow parents to more easily monitor how their children use the short-form video platform. With the new Family Safe Mode, parents will be able to restrict content, limit the ability to send and receive mentions and control how long users spend on the app. The company says the new features were designed to protect the well-being of app’s users. The Family Safe Mode is currently available in the United Kingdom and should be available globally in the coming weeks. TikTok’s parent company ByteDance been sued on more than one occasion for allegedly violating the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act.
