Truckers’ Protest Expected This Weekend

Drivers are being encouraged to be patient in the event that the convoy has an impact on traffic.

(Washington, DC) — Public officials in the area are keeping their eye out for a massive line of tractor-trailers headed to the D-M-V. It’s called the ‘People’s Convoy’ and the group says they are planning to come to the D.C. region this weekend to protest against COVID-19 mandates. They say they’re planning peaceful demonstrations but this could still pose as a traffic nightmare along local highways and interstates. The National Guard is on standby through Monday in D.C. while both governors in Maryland and Virginia have been in frequent conversation about how they plan to respond. Drivers are being encouraged to be patient in the event that the convoy has an impact on traffic.
