Some Uber and Lyft drivers in D.C. have gone on strike today. Stand De La Cruz, of the protest group Drive United, says there is an unfair balance between the drivers and the executives of rideshare companies. The District is among several cities where drivers are protesting. The drivers are reportedly planning to turn off their apps at noon and keep them off until midnight. Drivers say the pay system has gone downhill from where the ride-sharing companies started. Some drivers are also considering an organized protest at National Airport.
