Wendy Williams in Facility for Aphasia & Frontotemporal Dementia

Wendy Williams’ family has revealed that she is receiving treatment for health issues, including aphasia and frontotemporal dementia.

Aphasia affects language and communication abilities, the frontotemporal dementia impacts behavior and cognitive functions. Actor Bruce Willis also diagnosed with aphasia and frontotemporal dementia.

The disclosure coincides with the release of her Lifetime documentary, “Where Is Wendy Williams?” which explores her struggles post-talk show, scheduled to air February 24,2024.


The film depicts Wendy’s journey to recovery under a legal guardian’s care, addressing her battles with addiction and mental health. Despite the challenges, Wendy’s family notes she is in a better place emotionally and taking control of her narrative.

She is currently being treated by specialists at Weill Cornell Medicine while under the care of a court-appointed legal guardian and is in a more stable place physically and mentally. It’s been reported that she still is able to do many things for herself and maintains sense of humor.
