Holiday Spending: How to get out of debt?

Shopping during the Christmas holidays for gifts for family, friends and ourselves can be fun, especially when we catch that great sale.  But then Christmas is over, and some of us catch a glimpse of our bank account balances that are low and credit card balances that are high.  So, what do we do now to get ourselves back on good financial footing?
