The WHUR Helping Hands Radiothon helps to support the Howard University Alternative Spring Break (HUASB) Program in which students volunteer and render services in marginalized communities around the nation and world.
The Howard University Alternative Spring Break program is a unique student-led, service-learning experience that exposes students to concepts of social justice, interfaith exploration, and ethical leadership development.
Monies from the 2026 Helping Hands Radiothon help to pay for transportation, lodging, and food for 1,200 Howard University students who will be traveling to nearly two-dozen U.S. cities where they are expected to provide more than 150-thousand hours of community service.
