Repost by @PeninaBrown – Listen! I believe in kids way more than adults and if you raise them right, from infancy, pour into them, give them what THEY need (not what you need) and teach them the principles and fundamentals of life, then you won’t have to worry about them going astray as adults. I said what I said, and I stand by it. This was a good conversation @frankski & I had on @whurfm. I don’t believe kids should be disrespectful to adults, but I equally believe, just because they’re kids doesn’t mean you have the right to talk to them any kind of way. Kids deserve respect as well. Periodt. While this kid was disrespectful, I don’t believe the proper thing to do is embarrass him in front of his peers. Pull him aside and talk to him one-on-one, you will go so much farther if you’re really trying to make an impact in his life. And as a side note, it feels quite hypocritical to me that we put these children in the most aggressive arena on the field and expect them to just turn it off when the whistle blows. Umm, yeah okay.
