The DC Council unanimously passed the first reading of the omnibus crime bill late this afternoon. Ward 8 Councilman Trayon White voted present. This is not a done deal. A second reading is expected later this month. But we expect a continued hue and cry about this sweeping crime bill as the city struggles to address growing crime problems. We’re hearing more voices in this great debate.
