Deadly police shooting in Frederick, Md…

There has been a fatal police shooting in Thurmont, Maryland. Officers were called to a home on Sandy Springs Lane around 1:30 this morning. The call was concerning a person with a gun outside of the home.

When officers arrived, they made contact with the suspect. He was shot by police and later died. The suspect’s identity has not been released. An investigation into the matter is on going.

A Maryland man had to be rushed to the hospital over the weekend. This after he cut off his own penis. Reports indicate the man used a razor while at the Montgomery Correctional Facility on Saturday.


He was taken to a hospital in Virginia that specialized in traumatic limb reattachment. At last check, there was no update on the man’s condition.

Someone littering in DC leads to a shooting…

One person has been shot after a dispute by a resident and some people sitting inside of a car in the 800 block of Crittenden Street in Northeast.

Police say the victim noticed people sitting in a vehicle and throwing items on the ground. According to police words were exchanged and someone inside of the vehicle stepped out and fired twice at the resident. He was hit in the arm. The three suspects sped off. The victim is expected to make a full recovery. Police are looking for the suspects.

Harriet Tubman portrait unveiled at Nt’l Museum of African American History and Culture…

For the first time, a portrait of abolitionist Harriet Tubman will be unveiled at the National Museum of African American History and Culture. The portrait of the Underground conductor is apart of the Emily Howland 19th century photography album.

The portrait of Harriett Tubman will be on display starting today through March 31st. It will then be moved to the “Slavery in the Freedom” hall in the museum’s the History Gallery.
