Dear Black People, Why Are We Killing Each Other?

It has been a very violent week in the DMV and across the nation. Black communities have been hit particularly hard by deadly gun violence.  Arrests have been made in deadly mass shootings in Salisbury, Maryland, Baltimore, and Philadelphia.  In DC, the political wrangling over the mayor’s crime bill continues ahead of a critical DC council vote on Tuesday.  Members of our community continue racking their brains about solutions to fix this violence conundrum.  We’re trying to have an honest conversation about gun violence in the black community.  Dear Black people, why are we killing each other?
