Gayle King has embraced the humor surrounding her recent Blue Origin spaceflight. A clip of her looking visibly anxious while boarding the capsule during the ceremonial bell rung went viral with memes galore. The most popular meme captioned her expression with, “If I send you this, just know I’m stressed.”

Addressing the memes on CBS Mornings, King explained that her serious expression stemmed from fear. She stated, “At that moment I was so afraid, I just wanted to get into my seat because I just wanted to let the training kick in”.

Despite her initial nerves, she has since found amusement in the memes, sharing that friends have been sending them to her and that she’s been laughing along. King’s reaction has resonated with many of us.
